Hollywood has had intimate history with Las Vegas. Although the saying "what plays in Vegas" saying never truly applied to with Las Vegas or Los Angeles, both cities have been the playgrounds of celebrities for decades. Some of the clubs, restaurants and bars have branches in both cities and are often run by the same business owners.

Both LA and Vegas have their secrets and make the setting for great stories. While LA may a have finally had its past almost exhausitvely scrutinized, Las Vegas hasn't always been in the limelight in the same intense way as LA and there may be more interesting films about Las Vegas to come. Meanwhile, George Clooney ( as Danny Ocean ) and his gang have been rounding up all star casts in his Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12 and now opening June 8, Ocean's 13. Each film has featured such notables as Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia. The first one ( Ocean's 11, 2001 ) also had Julia Roberts playing the former wife of George Clooney who had been stolen away by Any Garcia
